EPS led a multidisciplinary team in preparing a comprehensive housing strategy to address current and future housing needs in the City of Vacaville. EPS assessed the City’s socioeconomic context and residential market dynamics, and engaged the City and community for input. The City Council unanimously approved the housing strategy in June 2022.
Housing demand in the city has continued to outpace supply over the last several decades and is expected to remain strong. The EPS team prepared a proposed housing strategy to meet three overarching goals: encourage a diversity of housing choices; address regulatory and financial barriers to needed housing production; and implement new initiatives and programs to achieve housing needs. The goals and associated strategies and implementation actions guide the City in proactively and effectively addressing identified housing needs over the next decade.
