Sushma’s passions lie in developing urban policies supported by sound real estate solutions, to ultimately champion the interests of the diverse communities she serves, advocating for sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant local environments. At EPS, Sushma works on a range of projects primarily focusing on affordable housing policy and needs assessments, market studies, and neighborhood planning. She enjoys uncovering the intricacies of local context through data analysis, community engagement, and field research.  

Sushma joined EPS in 2023 following nearly four years with the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development where she managed city-sponsored affordable housing projects through predevelopment. She has a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Visvesvaraya Technological University. In her free time, Sushma loves exploring the mountains and all things outdoors, but equally enjoys staying cocooned at home, playing video games, or experimenting with new recipes.
