Thomas is passionate about tackling challenging policy questions at the public-private intersection of real estate and urban planning. He is driven by a desire to create cities that are dynamic, delightful, just, and prosperous. Throughout his work at EPS, Thomas focuses on helping public sector officials make informed land use regulatory choices by providing them with a clear understanding of market realities and dynamics. Thomas particularly enjoys working on projects that support walkable, people-oriented places, connecting to his background in transportation and urban design.
Thomas joined EPS in 2021 after more than five years of working for an institutional, mixed-use developer, where he had broad responsibility for asset management and market analysis for residential and retail properties across California. Thomas holds a Master of City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University. He is currently President of the LA Chapter for the Berkeley Real Estate Alumni Association (BREAA) and is an active member in the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Lesbian and Gay Real Estate Group (LGREG). When he is not working, you’ll likely find him skiing, line dancing, training for a triathlon, or finding some other way to engage in sports and outdoor activities.
